TWO people have been charged after they were found driving a stolen ute in Cairns North yesterday, 14 November.
Police allege a 28-year-old Palm Island woman stole the BT-50 from a West End property on 11 November.
Officers from the Tactical Crime Squad spotted the vehicle around 11am and took the women into custody.
Police believe the pair were involved in vehicle theft, property and driving related offences between Cairns and Townsville from 28 July to 14 November.
The 28-year-old Palm Island woman was charged with four counts of unlawful use of a motor vehicle and two counts of stealing.
The other 25-year-old North Ward woman was charged with two counts of unlawful use of a motor vehicle and one count each of fare evasion, stealing, receiving tainted property and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle.
Both women are scheduled to appear in the Cairns Magistrates Court today, 15 November.
