OFFICERS from the Cairns Tactical Crime Squad arrested a 14-year-old Bentley Park boy for assault at a Charles Street address on Tuesday May 14.
It is alleged the boy was involved in smashing the glass at a Swallow Street business in the early hours of May 11.
It is further alleged that the boy then entered the business and stole a quantity of cigarettes and cash.
The boy will also be alleged to have been involved with four similar incidents where shop fronts were damaged, and property was stolen from businesses across Cairns and Edmonton over the last few weeks.
The boy has been charged with four counts of enter premises, one count of attempted enter premises, and seven counts of breach of bail.
He has been refused bail and was set to appear before Cairns Childrens Court on May 15.
A 35-year-old North Cairns woman was charged after being located on Martyn Street early on Tuesday morning.
Officers attempted to speak with the woman who was riding a bike just before 4am when it will be alleged she attempted to flee.
The woman was apprehended, and a search conducted shortly after allegedly located a quantity of methylamphetamine, GHB, and restricted prescription medication in her possession.
The woman was charged with two counts of possess dangerous drugs, and one count of possess restricted medications.
She is due to appear before Cairns Magistrates Court on May 30.
