Bills Marine bring home the awards

HANNA SLOAN

BILLS Marine in Cairns has received a slew of awards recognising their hard work, commitment to quality, and sales achievements over the past year.

A mainstay of the Cairns boating scene for over 48 years, Bills Marine has become one of the Far North’s leading boating, chandlery, marine electronics, accessories, and parts and service dealerships.

This year alone the dealership has been awarded multiple accolades – at the Yamaha Outboard Motors Elite 20 Dealers Awards, Bills Marine was recognised as one of the top Yamaha dealerships in the nation.

In addition to their Yamaha success, the business was also honoured as the Boating Lifestyle Adventure (BLA) Pro Store of the Year, a distinction that underscores their expertise in marine parts, accessories, and equipment.

To cap off their remarkable achievements, Bills Marine was named the Quintrex National Sales and Marketing Dealer of the Year 2022-2023, a recognition celebrating their outstanding sales performance and innovative marketing strategies.

According to the Quintrex website, the Sales and Marketing Dealer of the Year award celebrates initiative and a forward-focus on the earliest level of the customer experience.

Bills Marine director Scott Heinemann said the awards are a testament to the hard work of his team.

“You need the good results to win these awards, but you don’t get those results without working hard,” he said.

I don’t do it by myself – this is recognition of the hard work the whole team puts in

Bills Marine owner and director Scott Heinemann

Scott and his wife Kiah travelled to Tasmania in August to attend the Yamaha dealer conference and were thrilled to return to Cairns with the Elite 20 trophy.

Scott joined Bills Marine as director in 2012 and now as the sole owner is very proud of his team and his “little shop” in a time of rising financial pressures.

“To be a top 20 dealer for Yamaha out of 200 dealers is amazing and the recognition from both Quintrex and BLA is an incredible feeling,” he said.

“With the market conditions what they are, we were expecting sales to taper off around this time and they really haven’t – we’ve been so busy.

“We’ll have to let our hair down and celebrate at Christmas time.”

The dealership’s triple triumph cements their reputation as industry leaders in the marine and boating sector.
