IN a tragic turn of events, police investigating the disappearance of a 16-year-old boy located a body at Saibai Island on Thursday afternoon, April 18.
They later confirmed that the body had injuries consistent with a crocodile attack.
The formal identification process is underway to confirm the identity of the body, and further testing is underway to confirm the cause of death.
No confirmation has yet been made as to whether the body is that of the missing boy.
Police are working with officers from the Department of Environment and Science as investigations continue.
