THREE individuals have been apprehended for their alleged involvement in separate incidents across Cairns, including a nightclub assault, attempted vehicle break-ins, and fuel theft.
A 24-year-old woman from Yorkeys Knob was taken into custody after reportedly assaulting nightclub staff members.
The incident escalated to the point where police intervention was required, and one staff member sustained bite-related injuries, needing treatment at Cairns Hospital.
The accused woman has been charged with assault occasioning bodily harm and obstructing police. She remains in custody pending a scheduled appearance before Cairns Magistrates Court today, 19 February.
Meanwhile, in Earlville, a 44-year-old man from Gordonvale was arrested after being discovered attempting to break into vehicles -in the carpark of a Mulgrave Road motel.
Upon apprehension, he was found to be in possession of several credit cards not belonging to him.
He faces charges of attempted enter premises, possession of implements for use, and possession of suspected stolen property and is set to face Cairns Magistrates Court on 5 March.
In a separate incident in Portsmith, a 31-year-old man from Manoora was taken into custody following investigations into fuel theft from earthmoving machinery parked at a local business on Buchan St.
The accused individual is also implicated in similar incidents across various locations in the region over the past month.
Charges against him include stealing, unlawful use of a motor vehicle, enter premises, using false number plates, and face disguised with intent.
His bail has been denied and he is slated to appear before Cairns Magistrates Court today.
