CAIRNS is set to become the focal point for designers, models and style enthusiasts in July 2024 with the return of five-day style showcase Cairns Fashion Week.
Council has endorsed a $35,000 funding package for Cairns Fashion Week, which celebrated its launch in June this year.
Over five days, local designers showcased their work on runways at Crystalbrook Riley and Tanks Arts Centre, with shows for swim, resort, and evening wear.
Following the success of the inaugural event, organisers aim to establish it as an annual showcase that will put Tropical North Queensland on the fashion week map and draw interstate and international visitors to Cairns.

It also has the potential to create an avenue for local fashion designers, models, and talent to pursue and be involved with the fashion industry.
Targeting both designers and spectators, the five-day itinerary includes workshops and symposiums led by industry experts to drive inspiration, innovation and engagement.
Council endorsed the provision of $25,000 in funding, with a further $10,000 dependent on an assessment of the eventās performance against agreed criteria.
