The opening date for Cairns’ first 7-Eleven store is here, with the doors at 334-336 Sheridan Street North Cairns expected to open on Tuesday 27 June.
The new store is part of the company’s investment in providing the same level of choice and convenience to North Queensland residents that is available to people in metropolitan Brisbane.
The Australian owned company is excited to be training its first local team who will be central to building the network in the area.
According to 7‐Eleven Area Lead North, Jeff Yerbury, the store team looks forward to welcoming the Cairns community to their new store.
“People can grab their favourite products and fill up at any time 24 hours a day, 365 days a year,” he said.
“We have food and convenience options including 7‐Eleven’s handmade sandwiches, wraps and Krispy Kreme doughnuts.”
Mr Yerbury said the store will also have 7‐Eleven’s freshly ground Fairtrade Certified coffee, Slurpee including Slurpee No Sugar options and frozen blended smoothies, frappes and shakes.
The store offers high quality Mobil fuels and gives Cairns locals access to the My 7‐Eleven App which includes a fuel price lock feature.
According to Ms Inkson, the team are excited to welcome locals to their new 7‐Eleven, which will have fuel, food and convenience ranges, and deliveries of seven days a week.
“Our customers can download the My 7‐Eleven App and use the Fuel Price Lock feature to lock in a price on our fuel that might be lower. It means customers can choose to fill up using the price they have locked in any time that suits them within the next seven days*. As a bonus, the app has loyalty rewards, offers, discounts and can be linked with your Velocity Frequent Flyer card to earn Points,” Ms Inkson said.
7-Eleven Retail Area Lead North Jeff Yerbury said the new store would provide an economic boost for Cairns.
“We’re really excited to be joining the community in Cairns by making an investment that will create jobs and help drive economic growth for the area,” he said.
Mr Yerbury said that the company is proud to be investing in the region.
“Our multi-million dollar commitment to Queensland will see us open a number of stores in the next few years including more in North Queensland,” he said.
“We are continuing to work with landlords and developers to open stores in the right locations to meet the needs of the community.”
7-Eleven Australia is locally owned and operated, with more than 720 stores across Victoria, NSW, ACT, QLD and Western Australia.
Approximately 9,000 Australians work under the 7-Eleven brand, employed directly by 7-Eleven or indirectly through franchised stores, and these teams serve an average of seven customers every second across Australia.
