CENTACARE FNQ will celebrate World Gratitude Day next week to highlight the importance of expressing thanks and appreciation and the positive impacts on general wellbeing.
Recognising the benefits of acknowledging what is in life to be thankful for, Centacare’s mental health coaches will be on-site at Cairns Central to give out gratitude journals and engage with shoppers throughout World Gratitude Day.
According to Centacare FNQ’s mental health and wellbeing manager Nathan Lee, the coaching team will provide tips and tricks for managing anxiety and mental health issues.
These will include thankfulness and the positive spin-offs for keeping a gratitude journal such as increased happiness, positive moods, and better sleep.

“World Gratitude Day reminds us to be grateful for what we have, whether small or insignificant,” Mr Lee said.
“We all lead busy lives and often forget to stop and say thank you.
“This is about not taking people and their acts of kindness for granted.
“Gratitude is a form of mindfulness that our coaches work to instil in people struggling with mental health issues.”
