Lavish by Benita Williams is set to host aspiring young models in several modelling, deportment, and grooming courses in Cairns on 3-5 July and 13-15 December 2023.
Model coach Benita Williams knows the ins and outs of the modelling industry like no other, but it wasn’t always this way. The trailblazer and owner of Australia’s first Indigenous modelling agency is no stranger to forging a new path.
In her early twenties, Benita travelled to Sydney to begin her modelling career, and keenly felt the difference a lack of industry knowledge can have on a promising young model. Now, almost a decade on, she is using her skills to mentor young models in Far North Queensland through Lavish, her modelling agency.
I want to give them the confidence to take that first step.

Participants in Lavish courses can expect workshops on topics ranging from runway technique, photography posing, and makeup skills to nutrition, mental wellness, and self esteem. Benita aims to give aspiring young Far North Queensland models a holistic approach to their entry into their modelling careers.
“They will learn about the deeper side of health, and being the best person they can be in their careers and their lives,” she said.

Benita will utilise the courses to allow students to step into Lavish modelling agency, should they choose to sign on.
The door is also open for participants to then attend the next course free of charge.
“Some parents are happy to pay again for the next course, because they love seeing their kids so happy,” she said.
“I’m also hoping to hold a course in Cooktown as reaching out to youth living in remote communities is what I’m all about.”
Benita said her aim is to encourage young models to give everything a go.
Payments are due four weeks prior to each course. Payment plans are also welcome. Applicants can call or email Lavish by Benita Williams to discuss their options.
