GENERATIONAL music was font and centre on the Main Stage of Savannah in the Round over the weekend as the legendary Kasey Chambers performed ‘Captain” with her father Bill and son Arlo on Friday night.
Chambers’ two-hour long set drew one of the biggest crowds over the course of the three-day festival at the Mareeba Rodeo Grounds, as she delivered a host of originals and some electric covers, including Eminem’s ‘Lose Yourself.”
A mainstay of the Savannah stage, Chambers has a career that has traversed decades and connected generations as fathers sung with their daughters and grandparents sung with their grandkids.
The crowd was quick to show their love for Chambers when she took the stage, chanting her name and singing her songs back to her while some audio technical issues were resolved.

Despite the delayed start to her set, Chambers quickly proved why she is one of the best in the business as she began belting out hits to an energised crowd.
Close to the end of her set Chambers brought her youngest child, Arlo, on stage and performed ‘Captain’ with her and her father Bill.
Showing the same level of energy and enthusiasm started her set with, Chambers ended her time at Savannah in the Round 2023 with a bang and was cheered off by the hundreds of fans in the rodeo grounds.
