It’s hard to believe that 2023 is just around the corner. It’s been another big year for Cairns Business Women’s Club.
It has been another huge year for the Cairns Business Women’s Club team behind the scenes. I’m still incredibly proud as president of this year’s Cairns Business Women’s Club Awards evening. The night was refreshing and invigorating, where we celebrated the remarkable contribution women make to our business community; to October Luncheon at the Reef Hotel Casino, a hugely popular event, and it was great to see everyone under one roof again. This event was in partnership with COUCH, where we supported Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and funds raised were donated to COUCH and the McGrath Foundation. Many laughs were had with old friends and new acquaintances while dressed in pink.
The world has significantly changed since Cairns Business Women’s Club was founded in 1985. I am a firm believer that as the world changes, you, your governance strategies and capabilities should evolve to keep up with the ever-changing world. Investing in yourself through learning opportunities is a great way to keep yourself at the forefront of change. However, reflection and the inevitable revision of best practices that lead to change should never be underestimated.
Remember as you prepare for the end of 2022 to reset your personal and professional goals. A business plan is not just to have but it should evolve as your business grows and demands change.
Before we say goodbye to 2022, I look forward to catching up with you all at the Christmas Luncheon on 9 December at Pullman International. I wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a safe and Happy New Year.
