Officers offer helping hand

AN elderly man whose car ran out of fuel and became stuck on a sidewalk in Innisfail last week received a helping hand from two Innisfail first-year officers.

The officers were called to a traffic hazard on Mourilyan Rd, East Innisfail, where a 70-year-old man’s vehicle had run out of fuel, causing it to roll backwards a sidewalk and become stuck.

First-year constables Deane and Watcham were quick to help resolve the problem and drove the gentleman to the service station to purchase fuel.

The man was grateful to be on his way once the officers had the car topped up with some fuel.
