Stolen vehicle charges, Manunda:
Police have charged a 41-year-old Bungalow man after an alleged break-and-enter in Manunda over the weekend.
It will be alleged the man broke into an Anderson Street business sometime between Friday, February 3 and Sunday 5, February before stealing a car.
At approximately 8 am yesterday, officers from the Cairns Tactical Crime Squad located the man and the stolen vehicle at a Parramatta Park unit block. Police conducted a search with officers finding and seizing a quantity of cannabis.
The man was later charged with one count each of entering the premise and committing an indictable offence, receiving tainted property, unlawful use of a motor vehicle, unlicensed driving, and possessing dangerous drugs. He is due to appear in Cairns Magistrates Court on February 23.
Police Appeal: Robbery, Manunda
Police are appealing for public assistance concerning a robbery in Manunda yesterday.
At approximately 5.30 pm, an 18-year-old woman was approached by four females as she was getting into a car on Koch Street.
An altercation ensued before the group stole a white 2013 Mazda 3 and left the scene. The woman sustained minor injuries in the incident.
The car was later located abandoned at White Rock.
