Pair arrested for meth

A PARRAMATTA Park pair have been charged with drug offences including possessing meth after being pulled over by police late last night, 16 January.

The 41-year-old man and a 53-year-old woman were intercepted by police at 10pm after officers ran checks on the vehicle and its previous associated occupants.

Police then allegedly spotted a substance scattered on the seats and footwells of the vehicle and when carrying out a search, a large quantity of methylamphetamine and cash were located in the vehicle and in the occupants’ possession.

The 53-year-old woman was charged with one count of possessing dangerous drugs and she is due to appear before Cairns Magistrates Court on 31 January.

The 41-year-old man was charged with one count each of possess dangerous drugs and possess property suspected of being proceeds of a drug offence. He was denied bail and will appear before Cairns Magistrates Court today, 17 January.
