CAIRNS police are investigating a break and enter and theft of a vehicle in Bentley Park in the early hours of this morning, 28 September, and are appealing to the community for assistance.
Just before 5am, unknown suspects unlawfully entered an address on Jumna Close in Bentley Park, stealing property including keys to a vehicle.
The suspects were confronted by the residents, a 54-year-old woman and a 52-year-old man, who attempted to stop the suspects stealing their vehicle.
One of the suspects assaulted the 52-year-old man causing injury requiring medical treatment.
The suspects then left the scene in the stolen vehicle a red 2020 Ford Puma station wagon with Queensland registration VIC009.
