Stealing charge, Parramatta Park
A 14-year-old Whitfield boy has been charged with stealing following an alleged fuel drive-off at a Parramatta Park service station on April 10. It will be alleged at approximately 12.05 am, the boy attended a Mulgrave Road service station and attempted to fill up with fuel. An attendant inside the store stopped the pump, and the driver allegedly left the scene without paying. No one was physically injured. A 14-year-old Whitfield boy has been charged with one count of stealing and is due to appear at Cairns Childrens Court at a later date.
Motorbike theft, Westcourt
Police have charged a 15-year-old Bungalow boy following a break-in at a Westcourt business yesterday. It will be alleged at approximately 2 am, the boy was part of a group that broke into a Brown Street business before stealing three motorbikes. Police located the boy, with one of the motorbikes, on Jensen Street in Manoora a short time later.
He has been charged with three counts of unlawful use of a motor vehicle and one count each of entering a premise and driving without a licence. He is due to appear at Cairns Childrens Court at a later date. Investigations are ongoing.
Possess dangerous drugs, Cairns City
Police have charged two men following an incident in Cairns City yesterday. It will be alleged at approximately 4.45 am; police intercepted a vehicle on Abbott Street with three occupants. A search of the car was conducted, with police allegedly locating a quantity of methylamphetamine. It will be further alleged a small amount of prescription medication was also located.
A 53-year-old Hopevale man has been charged with one count of possessing dangerous drugs. A 41-year-old Carruchan man has been charged with one count of offence to buy or possess S4 or S8 medicines. Both men are due to appear at Cairns Magistrates Court on May 4.
Fail to provide charges, Trinity Beach
Police have charged a 47-year-old Clifton Beach woman overnight following an incident in Trinity Beach. It will be alleged at approximately 8.10 pm, police were called to Seaways Street after receiving reports of a car driving erratically in the area. Police located the vehicle and attempted to do a roadside breath test, but the driver allegedly refused.
The driver was arrested and taken to Smithfield Police Station, where she again allegedly refused to supply a breath sample for testing. The woman was charged with one count each of failing to supply and driving under the influence of liquor. Her licence was immediately suspended, and she is due to appear at Cairns Magistrates Court on May 5.
