High range drink driving, Mooroobool

A 35-year-old Woree man has been charged after he allegedly returned a positive road-side breath test on Lavender Street around 3 am this morning.

He was detained and taken back to the Cairns Police Station for further testing, allegedly returning a reading of 0.206.

His licence was immediately suspended, and he was charged with one count of driving under the influence of liquor.

He was issued a notice to appear before Cairns Magistrates Court on March 23.

Enter Premise, Redlynch, Clifton Beach

Police charged a 15-year-old Manoora boy yesterday (March 7) with alleged break and enter at Redlynch and Clifton Beach.

It will be alleged around 5.40 pm on January 20, the boy entered a Redlynch supermarket, forced the cash register open and stole some cash.

It will be further alleged around 6.30 pm on January 24 that, the boy entered a Clifton Beach supermarket, again forced open a till, and stole cash before fleeing.

Police charged the boy yesterday with two counts of entering premises and committing an indictable offence, and he is due to appear before Cairns Childrens Court at a later date.
