Cairns officers ran a recruiting night at the Cairns Police Station last Thursday, with 18 potential candidates attending.
The seminars are usually run in the evening and provide members of the public with an outline of policing and what to expect during the training period. Generally, guest speakers are officers who have been on the job for a while, along with others who have just completed their training.
Constable Liam Knox was also invited to speak about police recruiting at a junior State Emergency Service induction night, with several young people showing a keen interest in becoming police officers.
