REMEDIATION works to the support structures (piles) of the eastern pier on the Cairns Esplanade begin on Monday 30 October.
The works are expected to take two months to complete and will require the closure of the adjacent footpath to stop public access.
Works will include water blasting, concrete repairs, new steel plates and supports, and corrosion control.
The public is asked to follow any directions and detours as signed and Cairns Regional Council has apologised for any inconvenience the works may cause.
