The coolest Meditech Dispensing Robot in the world is on display at The Dispensary Coffee Shop in Orchid Plaza.
The Dispensary Coffee Shop owner and highly regarded local pharmacist with a passion for health and business, Nick Loukas, shared that he loves good coffee and has always wanted to open a coffee shop.
In 2019 Mr Loukas combined the old Abbott Street Alive Pharmacy outlet into the Lake St store. In November 2019, the business took on Lotto and Australia Post services following the closure of the newsagent. In mid-2021, he opened The Dispensary Coffee Shop in Orchid Plaza.
Recently, a viewing window has been added so you can have a coffee while watching your prescription being dispensed next door at the Alive Pharmacy Warehouse by a robot.
“You can actually see how it works; people have been amazed at the technology,” Mr Loukas said.

Meditech develops, manufactures and distributes bespoke pharmacy robots for pharmacies worldwide. The technology gives busy pharmacists peace of mind while they can spend more time face-to-face with valued patients. The robots have been around for a while, but they have recently become more affordable.
One common comment Mr Loukas has received is whether the move was to save on wages, but that is not the case.

The robot automatically puts stock in the most efficient way possible and rearranges stock every night to ensure it’s working in the most efficient way possible.
