FOUR local groups will share in $60,000 of funding to assist with revegetation project after Cairns Regional Council endorsed the new Revegetation of Natural Areas Grant program earlier this year.
The groups will use the new funding awarded at today’s ordinary council meeting to revegetate natural areas, improve the native habitats and enhance biodiversity.

Recipients of the grants are the Caravonica 1077 Residents Association Inc for a revegetation project at the Botanica Nature Reserve ($11,000), Madjandji Aboriginal Corporation RNTBZ for the revegetation project Caring for Woolanmaroo ($19,000).
Marlin Coast Men’s Shed Inc for the revegetation project Moore’s Gully and Surrounds Program Stage 1 ($15,000) and the Mulgrave Landcare & Catchment Group Inc for a revegetation project at Barbagallo Rd, Riparian Corridor Linkage ($15,000).
