A WESTCOURT boy was arrested for assault after being located at a Mann Street apartment block on Thursday, April 18.
It will be alleged the 15-year-old assaulted an 82-year-old man who had gone to check on his neighbour’s house in Moowooga Street, Earlville on April 13.
It will be further alleged the boy had broken into the house and was searching inside when he was disturbed by the man.
The 82-year-old man suffered minor abrasions as a result of the assault.
Earlier that day, the boy allegedly robbed a 73-year-old man at Cunningham Street, Yorkeys Knob, punching the man in the face.
The 73-year-old man was treated at Cairns Hospital for a laceration sustained from the punch.
The boy will also be alleged to have been involved in several other offences over the past week including a break-in and theft of a vehicle from a Woree business on April 12.
The boy has been charged with one count each of serious assault, and robbery using violence, four counts of enter premises, three counts of attempted enter premises, three counts of stealing, and one count of unlawful use of motor vehicle.
He has been refused bail and will appear before Cairns Childrens Court at a later date.
